The stop Arningstraße is located in the eastern part of Hamburg's HafenCity, near Baakenhafen and the Baakenallee district. It is the final stop of line 72 and is mainly used by passengers commuting to or residing in the eastern new development areas of HafenCity. The pier is slightly off the main tourist hotspots but is easily accessible and situated in a quiet area.
The area around Arningstraße is characterized by modern architecture, wide pathways, new residential neighborhoods, and several educational institutions. Within a few minutes’ walk, you can reach the HafenCity University or the Baakenhafen promenade. The stop itself consists of an accessible pier with a modern design, in keeping with the newly developed surroundings. The ferry primarily provides residents with a good connection to the Landungsbrücken and the Elbphilharmonie.
In close proximity is the Baakenpark, a green island in the harbor basin with play and sports areas as well as viewpoints – a highlight for families or strollers. The HafenCity University, known for its modern architecture and subway connection (U4), is also easily accessible. The Überseeboulevard features cafes, supermarkets, and exhibitions, offering a mix of daily life and leisure. If you head west, you can reach the central HafenCity with Magdeburger Hafen, Speicherstadt, and Elbphilharmonie within a few minutes.
The stop Arningstraße is the eastern terminal of the ferry line 72, which regularly travels towards the Landungsbrücken.
The next and thus final stop is Elbbrücken. After that, the Elbfähre 72 returns via: Arningstraße → Landungsbrücken.
